We plan flight paths around LAX and Bob Hope Airport airspace before every job and file the LAANC authorization ourselves, so the call sheet doesn’t slip waiting on a permit.
Coastal productions get the same handling. Malibu bluffs, Santa Monica pier and Venice boardwalk each sit inside different controlled airspace and marine layer conditions, and we adjust the flight plan and camera settings for each location instead of running one generic aerial package everywhere.

Do you need a permit to fly a drone in Los Angeles?
Most commercial shoots need LAANC airspace authorization if you’re near LAX, Bob Hope Airport or Van Nuys Airport, plus a location or studio permit if you’re on private property. We handle the LAANC filing as part of every booking and can advise on location permitting requirements.
Can you film on a studio lot or backlot?
Yes. We coordinate directly with production coordinators and studio safety teams to get a drone cleared for backlot work, and we carry the FAA Part 107 documentation studios typically ask for before approving a flight.
What’s included in a Los Angeles drone cinematography package?
A standard booking includes a licensed pilot, a camera operator when the shot calls for one, cinema-grade payload options, pre-flight airspace clearance and edited footage delivered on an agreed turnaround. We scope crew and payload to the shot list rather than a flat package.

Yes. Our FPV pilots fly single-take runs through interiors, stairwells and tight exteriors for chase sequences, sports coverage and dynamic reveals, coordinated with your stunt or action unit.

We integrate a live aerial feed directly into your broadcast truck for red carpets, marathons, festivals and stadium events, so the drone shot cuts into the live program the same way a studio camera would.

How far in advance should we book?
For a standard cinematography or photography shoot, a week’s notice is usually enough. Live broadcast, drone light shows and backlot productions with studio clearance requirements need two to three weeks so we can file airspace authorization and any required permits ahead of the call date.
